Atlanta Carpet Cleaning
Location
Atlanta, Georgia
Atlanta Carpet Cleaning serves residential and commercial clients throughout the Atlanta area. Their services include carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, hardwood floor care, water damage restoration, and mold remediation.
This cleaning company has trained and insured technicians with modern equipment and industry-approved cleaning methods. They are known to offer flexible scheduling, free estimates, and a satisfaction guarantee.
Client’s SEO Challenges
When Atlanta Carpet Cleaning contacted us, they just had a website with little or no web presence. There was no organic traffic and very little GBP traction. As a result, no calls came through search results.
We took on the project in January 2023 and noticed that they were literally invisible in one of the most competitive home services markets in the South.
To give you some idea, Atlanta’s carpet cleaning industry is crowded since many franchise brands, heavily funded local operators, and national aggregators are all competing for the same local search results.
So, for a small independent cleaner like Atlanta Carpet Cleaning to break through, every SEO element has to be working, and for this client, almost none of them were.

What We Found
The initial audit showed a grim picture. There wasn’t one or two things that went wrong – the whole site never had any SEO foundation built at all.
Technical Issues

- Google indexing errors blocked the key pages from appearing in search results
- Slow page load speeds, especially on mobile
- Broken internal links and crawl errors throughout the site
- No sitemap submitted to Google Search Console
- Missing schema markup for local business
On-Page Issues
- No title tags or meta descriptions on most of the pages
- Missing or duplicated H1 headings throughout the site
- Service pages with thin, generic content that gave Google nothing to rank
- No location-specific keyword used anywhere on the site
Content Issues
- No blog or educational content to capture the top-of-funnel searches
- Service pages didn’t describe the business in depth
- No location pages for Atlanta neighborhoods or surrounding service areas
Google Business Profile Issues
- Incomplete profile, missing service descriptions, categories, and business hours
- Zero posts, no Q&A responses, no photos beyond a single stock image
- NAP (Name, Address, Phone) inconsistencies that harmed their trust signals
- No review generation strategy in place
The result was as expected. There was no organic traffic, no customer queries, and no jobs from online leads.
Our SEO Approach
We focused on the most important fixes and improvements first instead of trying to fix everything at once. We started with the issues that blocked Google from indexing the site. Then we fixed on-page and content issues, and then we turned to the GBP.
Step 1: Technical Issues (January – March 2023)
The first priority was to make the website positive to Google. So, we resolved all the indexing errors, submitted a clean sitemap, fixed broken internal links, and implemented LocalBusiness schema markup.
Next, we improved page speed by compressing images and cleaning up code. The result was almost immediate: the site became faster for mobile users searching for carpet cleaners on their phones.
Step 2: On-Page and Site Structure Optimization (March – June 2023)
After fixing the technical issues, we worked on on-page optimization.
After our input, every service page got a well-written title tag, meta description, and H1 heading – all targeting the specific searches Atlanta residents used when they needed carpet cleaning services.
Then, our SEOs restructured the site’s navigation so everything felt simple and easy to move through. To be more specific, we cleaned up the menu, grouped related services together, added helpful internal links between pages, and made sure visitors could reach the important pages in just a few clicks.
We also added neighborhood and service area content to target the Atlanta suburbs and districts where Atlanta Carpet Cleaning operated. This was necessary for them to show up in hyper-local search results.
Step 3: Google Business Profile (June – September 2023)
Since GBP is one of the most important parts of local SEO, we treated it as its own project. We mainly did the following:
- Selected the correct primary and secondary categories to match how Atlanta residents searched for carpet cleaning services
- Wrote keyword-rich service pages for every service offered
- Built out the Q&A section with the questions potential customers asked before booking
- Created a weekly posting schedule considering service spotlights, seasonal tips, and before-and-after content
- Uploaded a full set of real business photos: team, equipment, job sites, and completed work
- Corrected NAP inconsistencies in 40+ online directories, including Google, Yelp, Facebook, and local citation sources
Step 4: NAP Citations & Authority Building (September 2023 – March 2024)
Since Google considers local citations as a strong trust signal for local rankings, we carefully built and fixed listings throughout the major directories like Yelp, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, the Better Business Bureau, and several Atlanta-specific sites.
With a systematic method, we made sure the business name, address, and phone number were the same everywhere.
The Results
Timeline: January 2023 – March 2024 (15 months)
After we work, monthly Google Business Profile Interactions 575

After we work monthly Google Business Profile Calls 120

| Metric | Before (Jan 2023) | After (Mar 2024) |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly organic website traffic | 16 | Growing consistently |
| Monthly GBP traffic | 96 | 500+ visits/month |
| Monthly calls from search | 4 | 120 calls/month |
| Google indexing status | Errors blocking key pages | Fully indexed |
| GBP profile completeness | Incomplete | 100% optimized |
| NAP consistency | Inconsistent across directories | Unified throughout 40+ sources |
| Local pack visibility | Not appearing | Ranking for target keywords |
As you can see, 500 GBP visits per month means 500 potential customers in Atlanta found this business on Google Maps, viewed their profile, and engaged with the company.
Also, 120 calls per month from a starting point of zero means the phone is now a genuine lead channel. At even a modest 20% booking rate, that’s 24 new jobs per month coming directly from local search results.
What Made the Difference
The results didn’t come randomly – they came from improving each part of the SEO plan step by step.
We fixed the technical foundation first so Google could easily crawl and index Atlanta Carpet Cleaning’s website. Then we strengthened the on-page content so those pages had real value to rank for.
After that, we optimized their Google Business Profile to create a second, highly visible channel in the local map pack. Finally, we built consistent NAP citations that tied everything together, signaling to Google that this is a real, established local business serving Atlanta.
